Resolute Shines Spotlight on Healthcare Employee Classifications
Resolute recently secured a letter to the editor in The New York Times on behalf of Gale Healthcare Solutions in response to a story about properly classifying temporary workers. In the letter, Gale President and Founder Tony Braswell explains because of the highly regulated nature of the healthcare industry, nurses and nursing assistants must be classified as employees rather than independent contractors.
While the rise in popularity of digital health care staffing platforms allows nurses to choose a more flexible schedule and helps fill in the gaps left by the national nursing shortage, some of these platforms are engaging in worker misclassification, putting nurses at risk of not receiving the benefits provided by W2 employment.
