Gary/Chicago International Airport hosts groundbreaking for expansion’s first phase

Resolute congratulates the Gary / Chicago International Airport (GCIA) for announcing their $24 million, Phase 1 infrastructure project allowing for the long-term expansion of their growing air cargo services sector. When completed, the cargo service expansion will accommodate up to 18 wide-bodied aircraft.

The GCIA cargo sector is a growing offering that serves a critical role in Chicago’s regional air system and provides added flexibility to Chicago’s major airports – O’Hare and Midway. Since initially beginning air cargo operations in Q4 of 2020, GCIA has quickly scaled operations and now ranks 3rd in the State of Indiana in overall freight volume, with increasing capacity on the way.
